Most visitors see Chaco Canyon when it is hot and dry. But it is not always so. In July 2006, near record amounts of rain fell, swelling Chaco Wash and providing abundant moisture for wildflowers which bloomed in August. The following January and February saw significant snowfall which blanketed the landscape.
